Dr. Nooshin Valizadeh is a two time Rossier Student Organization Faculty of the Year Award winning lecturer at the University of Southern California (USC). She teaches in both the Doctor of Education and Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration programs for the USC Rossier School of Education.
Dr. "Noosh" is also an accomplished singer (AKA "eNVy"), and performs spoken word poetry as well. Her vocals have appeared on Professor Lyrical's award winning album, iNFiNiTi, including on the nationally charted "Come With Me," on which she sang the chorus and added numerous background vocals to the single.
Dr. Valizadeh’s areas of research and expertise include academic self-efficacy, science identity, student-faculty interaction, issues of gender and racial equity in higher education, and college student experiences with regard to underrepresented students in STEM majors and careers. She has presented at numerous conferences and workshops, including recently at the 2018 American Educational Research (AERA) Association Annual Meeting in NYC.
Before transitioning into a career in Higher Education Administration, Dr. Valizadeh worked as a Tax Senior Consultant in Financial Services for Deloitte Tax LLP in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2007, she participated in a two-month rotation in Hyderabad, India, where she trained over 40 new staff members and helped establish a foundation and international presence for the Boston and New York offices to build upon.
Dr. Valizadeh has a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership with a Concentration in Higher Education. She received both a Masters in Business and Administration with a Concentration in Finance and Management, and a B.A. in Communications and Cultures from Clark University in Worcester, MA. She is fluent in Persian (Farsi) and Spanish.
